What are assistants?

Assistants are specialized AI researchers, each tuned for a different kind of theological work. Instead of a single generic chatbot, Theostack gives you a team of specialists — each with its own system prompt, focus area, and approach to searching the library.

Categories

Assistants are organized into four categories:

Preach

• Sermon Feedback — Upload your sermon manuscript or transcript and receive a structured feedback report covering exegetical accuracy, theological depth, structure, application, Law-Gospel distinction, and gospel centrality.
• Sermon Summary — Upload your sermon manuscript or transcript and receive a devotional summary, comprehensive study guide, or both — complete with key quotes, discussion questions, and additional reading suggestions.

Study

• Exegesis Assistant — Bring any passage of Scripture and receive rigorous, source-grounded exegetical help — context, structure, key terms, interpretive options, and commentary from the library.
• Doctrine & Theology Assistant — Ask any doctrinal question and receive a clear, confessionally grounded answer with Scripture, the historic creeds and confessions, and the best theologians in the library.
• Church History Assistant — Explore two thousand years of Christianity — people, councils, movements, and controversies — grounded in primary sources and the best historical scholarship.
• Deep Research Assistant — For the big questions that span multiple disciplines — cross-domain theological research, quote finding, series planning, and deep dives across the full library.

Shepherd

• Counseling Assistant — Get biblically grounded frameworks, key resources, and practical wisdom for any presenting issue — from anxiety and anger to marriage crisis and addiction.
• Marriage & Family Assistant — Theology of marriage, premarital preparation, parenting, family discipleship, and navigating the hardest pastoral questions about sexuality and the family.
• Church Health & Leadership Assistant — Church polity, elder and deacon ministry, membership, discipline, staff culture, leadership development, and congregational revitalization.

Engage

• Apologetics Assistant — Prepare to engage the hard questions — the problem of evil, the reliability of Scripture, faith and science, competing worldviews, and the intellectual challenges your congregation faces.
